Young Writers poetry competition
Year 2 entered a Young Writers poetry competition in February.
They were asked to write a ‘Senses poem’. Year 2 used their knowledge about The Great Fire of London to help them write their poems.
This week we received a letter from Young Writers to say that they were very impressed with their poems and that they wanted to publish them in a book called “Sense Poetry - Awesome Poems”
Young Writers have also told us that a copy of this book will remain in the National Archives of the British Library forever!
A letter will be coming home with them explaining what to do should you wish your child’s poem to be published in the book.
The children really enjoyed writing their poems and we are very proud of their amazing achievement.
