Daily update 7th May 2020

Hi Everyone,

We’re delighted to be able to tell you that the member of staff who was tested for coronavirus is feeling a little better today and their test results have come back as negative. How weird is it that we are all delighted that they have a chest infection? They are still getting plenty of rest and being looked after (and hopefully with some antibiotics from the doctor). We have sent on all your well wishes which really does help.

This does mean that we can continue next week with our preparations for welcoming more children back to school. There has been so much speculation and conflicting views as to whether schools will open soon that I have been left really not knowing what to expect. Whatever the announcement (expected on Sunday) we will give you all plenty of time to discuss and think about how and when your child returns to school.

Year6:  it is a very challenging time for our Year 6 children. For all of you who will be leaving us in July, please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to ease your transition to your next school. We are in discussions with staff and working out plans to help you manage the change. When the Government announces their ‘coming out of lockdown’ plan on Sunday, we will be looking at how this will affect our Y6 in particular. If for some reason we are not able to get together to say a big cheerio before the end of July, we will do our very best to ensure that this happens as soon as it is permitted.

I hope you all have a very enjoyable weekend and don’t forget to send us photos of your VE day celebrations.

Keep safe and be patient and kind.
