Update Monday 8th February 2021

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend even if it was a little chilly. It's nearly the end of another half term in lock down when at times it feels like nothing is changing yet, on the other hand, everyone has so many more challenges to face. I'd like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at school, especially with the way they have learnt and implemented the changes with our Google migration and Google classrooms. They really have been amazing, ensuring that everything is in place so quickly. We have had even more children being able to access the classrooms today, which is fantastic.

As we draw towards our half term break, it is time to organise how the school can be contacted if your child develops Covid symptoms during the holiday. If your child has been at school this week and has a confirmed Covid case (positive test result) on 13th or 14th February (Saturday and Sunday) you will need to inform the NHS track and trace system and the school by phoning or emailing the TKAT Centre between 10:00 and 12:00 on 15th February (0203 740 1808 option 0 0r  enquiries@tkat.org). If symptoms or a confirmed case arise after 14th, use the NHS track and trace system only. Then inform us of your child's absence in the normal way when we return on Monday 22nd February. In this way, we can inform those who were in close contact over the holiday period and prevent further transmission.

Reading books
On Thursday and Friday this week, we will be providing an opportunity for children who are working at home to exchange their reading books. Each class has been assigned a time slot. During this time, Miss Hook will have a table set up on the front playground with labelled bags for each child with a new set of books inside. These will have been chosen by the class teacher based on your child's ability. Books that need to be returned will be placed in a box and left for 72 hours before being returned to the school boxes. Miss Hook will have sanitised the area and her hands and will be wearing her visor. We ask that you take the same precautions, keep 2m from anyone outside your household and ensure you wear a face covering when you pick up. The time slots for classes are as follows:
Year 1: Thursday 9-10
Year 2: Thursday 11 - 12
Year R: Thursday 1:30 - 2:30
Year 3: Thursday 2:30-3:30
Year 4: Friday 9-10
Year 5: Friday 11-12
Year 6: Friday 1:30- 2:30

TT Rockstars
Congratulations to our winners-Year 5! Well done for everyone who took part in the recent times table battle, especially to Year 2 for competing with all the older children. Look out for further battles coming soon. If you are feeling particularly confident, why not ask your teacher to take on Miss Hook or myself! I believe we may have a few brain cells left rattling around somewhere. 😁

We may be expecting more snow overnight - let's hope it's the fluffy, snowman-building type! ⛄

Take care and stay safe,
