Update Tuesday 2nd February 2021

Hi everyone,

This week is Children's Mental Health Week so we hope you are keeping busy and managing to enjoy some time together as a family.
As you can see from the photos, Y3 had a ball today building dens. This was always a favourite in our house, especially on a cold Sunday afternoon... grab all the pillows, blankets, duvets and cushions you can to make it nice and cosy. Brilliant!

Google Classroom
We hope that you have received - or will very shortly - your child's Google log in details. To sign in simply switch on your browser (if this is not already Google, search Google) Sign in to your child's account using the details we have sent in the post. Click on the waffle (9 small squares making up one larger square). Click on Classroom. To join a Classroom enter the code provided.

We have our fingers crossed everything will go smoothly... the teachers at school have been practising today with some interesting results. Mr O'Brien was chuckling as he walked down the corridor after one child said to him, 'Don't worry Mr O'Brien, you don't need to be frightened of technology".  😂  Miss Hook has predicted an IT meltdown... hahaha. Please remember, the platform is new to us as well as for you so there'll need to be much learning together to start with. If it goes wrong, please do not worry, just let us know and we can help.

With this in mind, the live sessions this week will be devoted to the skills needed to make further live sessions successful and the children will be taught how to use the features and respond in different ways. As well as, of course, a nice catch up chat as we haven't been together for so long.

Attached is a copy of the daily Remote Learning Timetable (Click here to view) with each year group's live session time and a suggestion for how other activities may fit into the day. We understand that this can be tricky, especially when devices are shared, so please try your best and let us know if you need any further help.

For the rest of this week, all other tasks set will still appear on Show My Homework, but from Monday 8th Feb, all tasks for Y 1-6 can be found in your child's new Google Classroom. YR will continue to use Tapestry for other work.

To finish, I'd like to share Denver's fitness powerpoint. He created it for the children in school to do but I've no doubt everyone could enjoy it. What a lovely thought and also a stark reminder of how much we need and miss our friends. Thanks Denver. 😁

As always, thank you for your continued support and don't forget to contact us if you need anything.
