Daily Update

Hi everyone,

We are very excited this week to be part of the nationwide initiative to generate more electronic devices for children to use at home with their remote learning. We have signed up to the charity Business2schools and have started to have some notifications of devices that we will be able to loan out once they have been prepared by our IT technician. TKAT have also managed to source some additional Chrome Books for us which again should be arriving shortly.

I know that some of you have no devices or are trying to complete you home learning on mobile phones or just have one device that needs to be shared by the whole family. This must be very tricky and we very much appreciate your persistence and effort but would also like to make this process much more manageable. Watch this space 😊

Tests

It was very frustrating to hear that the DfE assessments have been cancelled again this year. Although we understand the reasons behind this, the tests are an excellent way for the children to have their hard work and achievements recognised and for us as a school to have some official, external data to confirm the ongoing improvements we have made.  We will be continuing to use the NTS test from Rising Stars for all year groups. These are similar to the end of Key Stage SATs tests and have standardised scores generated from tests across the country. We use these once a term as part of our moderation and assessment process and they help the teachers to make their judgements. It is really important for us as a school to ensure that all children make good progress and reach their full potential so we will be continuing with our assessments as normal once school resumes for all.

As always, thank you very much for your continued support.

Stay safe,
