Weekly update 20th November 2020

Hi Everyone,

We hope you are all well.

Teaching and Learning

This week the Y6 children have completed their first Mock SATs papers and have done amazingly well. This is such good news both for the children themselves as they will be secondary school ready by the end of the year, but also for the school as a whole as this means that our plans to have reached nationally expected outcomes for children at the end of KS2 are still on track. This is despite the interruptions in education of the first lockdown and I am incredibly proud of both the children and the staff for their hard work and commitment to learning. For those of you who were parents during our last Ofsted visit, you will remember that this progress is crucial for us to receive the ‘GOOD’ Ofsted judgement that the school deserves.  As you may expect, Ofsted inspections were postponed during the first lockdown and have still not resumed fully. However, we are still expecting and looking forward to our next visit in the Autumn term next year.

Parents consultations

We are delighted to be holding parent consultations this term by telephone. You should have received a letter asking for you to indicate a preferred time for your child’s class teacher to contact you. Next week you will receive a short report that you can both refer to during the telephone conversation. Please remember to return the letter indicating when would be a good time for the class teacher to phone.  The initial conversation will be 10 minutes long. If you need longer to discuss anything, please arrange with the class teacher to phone back at another time, so that they can keep to their appointment times.
