Hi Everyone!

What a beautifully sunny week. The children have enjoyed plenty of access to outside learning and ventilating rooms has been a must, which is great as these are two recommended ways to help keep us all healthy. 😊

There have been a few questions around provision for home learning. Like many things at the moment there is no one easy solution. I’ve outlined below provision for different circumstances. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Home learning if children are sent home

There are three likely reasons your child may be at home and need school work.

Full or partial school closure -

  1. As you may be aware, there is now a real likelihood that the COVID19 transmission rate of infection will increase to a point where further restrictions are put in place by the Government. We are really hoping that this will not include a full or partial school closure but at the moment, it is not clear whether this may happen. In an event of school closure, daily work will be set on Show My Homework. This is a platform that allows the children to communicate with their class teacher and will be used if an entire class (bubble) needs to close.

Self isolating -

  1. Your child has COVID19 type symptoms and needs to self isolate for 10 days.
  2. A member of your child’s household has symptoms and your child needs to self isolate for 14 days.

If your child needs to self isolate and is well enough to complete school tasks, learning needs to be accessed through The Oak National  Academy Online. I have included a step by step guide so you are aware of what the expectations are during these periods.

Weekly home learning – homework for yrs 2-6 on Show My Homework

Each week your child will receive:

  1. sounds or spellings to learn with a quiz
  2. a reading task
  3. maths rock star challenge

Weekly home learning – homework for yrs R and 1 on Tapestry

Each week your child will receive:

  1. sounds or spellings to learn
  2. a reading task
  3. a maths task

Important to keep us all as safe as possible and to avoid another full closure please remember

Space – stay 2m whenever possible

Face – cover if within 2m is not possible to maintain

Hands – sanitise or wash frequently and thoroughly, avoid unnecessary touching

Times ahead are definitely still quite uncertain. Please make sure you continue to keep yourselves and your loved ones as safe as possible.

I hope you all have an ejoyable weekend,
