Daily update 1st June 2020

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well and have had an enjoyable weekend. Thank you to everyone who has message with questions regarding the return to school for some of our pupils. There is certainly a lot to think about and we appreciate your questions as it really helps us to think about putting our risk assessment and plans into practise. Tomorrow we will start training with more staff so that we can be really sure we have everything covered.

Today in school, our Key Worker children have embraced the latest Government guidance on outdoor learning and have started work on the cottage garden area. Looks like they had fun! As the Covid19 virus survives less well outside, each of our small groups have been allocated an outdoor space to use and develop during the summer term. I’m really looking forward to seeing how these areas grow. 😊

Hot meals at school

We are really pleased to be able to reintroduce hot meals for some of our children starting from next week. Universal meals (normally available for all pupils in YR, Y1 and Y2) will be available for children in those year groups when they attend school. Hot meals will also be available for children who normally qualify for Free School Meals when they are in school. We will still be providing Free School Meals for children who are not in school with the voucher scheme (Edenred) so if your child cannot attend please do not worry. If you would like to take advantage of a hot meal while your child is in school, Mrs Cole will deduct the cost of the hot meal from the next round of vouchers. Our cook has already been in to deep clean the kitchen and will be able to cook a take away style meal which will conform with all our existing and new safety expectations. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Keep smiling and take care,

Janette McClintock
