Daily update 21st May 2020

Hi Everyone,

What a beautiful week we are having! I hope you are all staying safe and following the guidelines but able to take advantage of the opportunity to be outside a bit more often. Dom and Gabriella have not only been baking and finishing all the homework they are given, but  are also out in the garden a lot. The swimming pool is definitely the place to be at the moment! Riley and Jessica have also been busy learning to swim this week. Well done everyone, a great job!

We have also received some amazing homework videos from Emma and Joey in year 6. Emma has created a fantastic puppet show of The Comedy of Errors by Shakespeare and Joey performed a great poem! Also, all the teachers would like to send a great big thank you back to Emilia for her beautiful 'Thank a Teacher' picture.

Keep up all the good work everyone!

Arrangements for the reopening of school:

We are pleased to say that our plan to reopen our Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 classes on the basis of phased learning is very much complete and I can now confirm that the date for this will be the week beginning Monday June 8th for the children. This will allow time for all staff to be trained and absolutely certain about the new health and safety measures that will be put in place before the children return. A letter will follow next week detailing the specific times and days of the week for the children concerned along with further details of picking up and dropping off arrangements and other health and safety measures, including a copy of our risk assessment.

Half-term arrangements:

Just a reminder that the school will still be open over the half term for vulnerable and key-workers children but closed to all on Bank Holiday Monday (25.05.2020).  As it is half-term, your child will not be expected to complete any tasks on Show My Homework and the teachers will not be looking at or responding to tasks during this week. However, we very much look forward to hearing what you have been up to.

Keep safe,

Janette McClintock
