letter from Mrs McClintock

Dear parents, carers and families,

We hope you are all well and keeping yourselves busy during this very unusual time.

Home Learning:

This week we sent out home learning packs in the event of a school closure. At the time we were preparing for a short break from normal schooling but have now been asked to make plans for the next four weeks. This does include the Easter Break, but as many of you will not be able to get out and about in the normal way during this time, we have made provision to extend home learning for the whole of this time. In order to make communicating tasks manageable, we have signed up to Show My Homework (Team Satchel). This is a popular platform for schools to post homework and will be widely used by many schools during this period of time when children need to be at home.

The teachers enjoyed their first group conference-call training this week (quite entertaining!) and will be posting home learning tasks ready for you to access from Monday 30th March. Please use the paper copy packs provided in the meantime. More details about Show My Homework will follow next week.

We are still here:

From next week, there will be a number of staff in school every day. This will include someone in the office to answer the phone, teachers and TAs, at least one of our well-being team and senior leadership. The rest of the staff will be working from home as directed by Government advice. We will have some children in school and have spoken to the families involved in this already. If your child is not attending, we will still be thinking of you. Keep busy, keep calm and be kind. We hope to see you all back at school as soon as we can.
